The Romanian encore of the road to Odessa is over! The day before yesterday I rode from Iasi to the village of Buhalnita at the banks of Bicaz Lake in the Eastern Carpathians. Another day deserving its special place in my own Great History Book of Cycling Cheer. With 190 km and 1800 meter of total elevation gain, I was unstoppable again!
Only one minute I was considering of giving in, thinking to catch the nearest train to get me out of where I was. Luckily, there was no such thing as a train station anywhere even far around that place.
For the rest, I simply could feel only contentment, serenity and bliss. Will it ever be hard to ride my bike, how would that feel and why would I ride then anyway?
Yesterday I continued my road west and rode another 103 km from Buhalnita to the area of Vatra Dornei, central Romania.
More impressions about the last two days, the mayhem, the surprises, the joy and the thoughts along the way are in the pictures and the pictures captions below. There are a lot! Romania is just too darn picturesque I guess and one way or another I always write myself new stories here, I will keep them forever. Stories is all I have!
